RSVP's pianist-keyboardist
and music director, Paul Laughlin, is a professor
of religion and philosophy at Otterbein College, and has been playing
jazz for over forty years. He won't say how old he is, only that
he was born in the Chinese year of the Dog.
The trio's drummer and manager, Dick Day, is a self-employed
consultant in the field of computer graphics, and has been composing and performing
percussion music most of his life. He lives in mortal fear of being replaced
by an electronic drum machine.
Last but hardly least is the band's bassist, Drew Laughlin,
a 2006 graduate of Otterbein College (in philosophy) and a licensed realtor who
plays acoustic and electric bass in nearly every musical genre, from symphonic
to rock to jazz. Drew's relationship to Paul is revealed in the latter's declaration
that he had had so much trouble over the years finding and keeping a bassist,
he finally just grew one. |
